How MyMod handles personal data.
1.The two kinds of data, and our role
MyMod handles two kinds of personal data:
- Seller data. Information about you as our customer: your name, contact details, account credentials, payment references, and usage. For this data we are the data controller.
- End-customer data. Information about your customers that flows through your connected page: names, delivery addresses, phone numbers, message content, and photos they send. We process this data on your behalf and on your instructions to operate the assistant for your page. For this data you, the seller, are the data controller and MyMod acts as your data processor.
2.What we collect and why
- To run the assistant: your catalog, photos, stock, delivery charges, and the comments and messages on your page, used to answer customers and capture orders.
- To capture orders: the customer name, delivery address, and phone number the customer provides.
- To match products: a visual fingerprint of catalog photos and of photos customers send, used only to identify the right product within a single post.
- To run your account: your account and contact details, plan, usage counts, and payment confirmation.
- On the marketing website: basic, privacy-respecting visit analytics to understand how the site performs.
We collect only what is needed for these purposes and do not sell personal data.
3.Legal basis and consent
We process seller data to provide the service you signed up for and to meet legal duties. End-customer data is processed on your instructions to deliver the assistant. Where consent is required, we and you rely on the consent obtained at the point of collection, and consent can be withdrawn.
4.How Facebook data is used
When you connect your page, we receive a page access token through Facebook Login. We use it only to read and reply to comments and messages, to detect new posts, and to receive the message events the assistant needs, within Facebook's 24-hour reply window and platform rules. We do not collect or store your Facebook password.
5.Where data is processed and stored
MyMod is hosted in a Singapore region. Catalog photos are stored as copies we control so the service keeps working if a Facebook link expires.
6.Third parties we use
- Meta (Facebook): the platform your page runs on and the source of messages and comments.
- Google (Gemini): the language-model provider that generates the assistant's replies. Message content and relevant product data are sent to generate a reply.
- Hosting provider: stores and runs the application and database.
- Mobile-money services (bKash, Nagad): used by you to pay for the subscription; we record payment confirmation, not card or wallet credentials.
We share personal data with these providers only as needed to run the service.
7.How long we keep data
We retain customer personal data, conversations, and orders for between 3 and 6 months depending on the type of data, after which it is deleted or anonymized, unless a longer period is required by law or to resolve a dispute. Seller account records are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward.
8.Security
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encryption of sensitive data in transit and at rest, restricted and logged access to conversations, and strong authentication for our admin panel.
9.Your rights and the rights of customers
Subject to the Ordinance, data subjects can request access to their personal data, correction of inaccurate data, and deletion of their data, and can object to certain processing. For end-customer data, requests are handled together with you as the controller. To make a request, contact us at privacy@mymod.xyz. We respond within the timeframe required by law.
10.Children
MyMod is a business tool and is not directed at children. The assistant is intended for commerce between sellers and adult customers.
11.Cookies and analytics
The marketing website may use limited, privacy-respecting analytics to measure visits and performance. It does not use intrusive advertising trackers. Details and any controls will be listed here once finalized.
12.Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy and will post the updated version with its effective date. Material changes will be notified.
